Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 July 2026 · applies to Bright CAD for iPad and to brightcad.app
Bright CAD collects no data. The app has no accounts, no analytics and no third-party SDKs, and it makes no network requests of any kind. Everything you model stays on your iPad.
Who we are
Bright CAD is an independently developed iPad app. The developer can be reached at [email protected], and is identified by name on the app's App Store listing. In this policy, "we" means that developer and "the app" means Bright CAD for iPad.
What the app collects
Nothing. There is no sign-up, no login, no profile, no usage telemetry, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind. The app contains no networking code, so it cannot transmit your data even accidentally. This is why the app's App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected.
Where your work is stored
- Projects are ordinary documents saved on your device, visible to you in the Files app, in the same way any other document is.
- If you choose to keep a project in iCloud Drive or another file provider, that storage is handled by Apple or by the provider you picked, under their own terms — not by us. We never see those files.
- Document previews shown in Files and Spotlight are generated on your device by the app's own thumbnail extension. They are not uploaded.
- When you export STL, STEP or OBJ, or share a project, the file goes wherever you send it. That destination's privacy practices apply from that point on.
Deleting your data
Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete. Removing a project in the app, or deleting it in the Files app, removes it from your device. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Children
The app is safe for all ages with respect to data: it collects no personal information from anyone, children included, and shows no advertising.
This website
brightcad.app is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no third-party fonts, scripts or embeds, and asks you for nothing. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server request data such as IP addresses for security and reliability purposes, as any web host does.
Purchases and the App Store
If the app is sold or offers purchases, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. We receive only the aggregate, anonymous sales reporting Apple provides; we never see your payment details, and we do not receive your name, address or email from a purchase.
Support email
If you write to us, we will have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to answer you, we do not add it to any mailing list, and we do not share it. Delete requests for support correspondence are honoured — just ask.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes — in particular, any change that would involve collecting data — will also be described in the app's release notes.
